It's that time of the year again... CHRISTMAS! Time to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. Time to be merry and jolly. And in keeping with the spirit of Christmas, I've decided to revamp (yet again) my blog a to give it a "Christmas" feel.
I like Christmas better when I was a kid. But the ugly face of commercialism has given Christmas a bad name. It's really sad but I'm afraid the meaning of Christmas is lost on our kids these days. They are so enthralled by the light-up, the Christmas trees and of course the presents to care about the real meaning of Christmas. Likewise my kids - they LOVE Christmas, more so then the Lunar New Year. Still, the message behind Christmas for me is that of HOPE - the hope that our good Lord brings... that he loves us so much that he sent his only son to save us from sin...
I suppose Christmas means different things to different people. What's your definition of Christmas and what does it mean to you?

The Christmas photo is quite good, if you have shot it yourself. But if you have ripped it off from the Internet, then it is nothing extraordinary, hee. However, I must admit that your 'falling snowflakes' effect is quite creative and the green font is so much more soothing to my eyes, thank you.
I too don't remember or know the real spirit or meaning of Christmas, until recently. This is because I grew up in a non-Christian family. I only remember sending Chrismas cards to my friends when I was young. Only in the last few years, my brother-in-laws who are staunch Christians invited my family to attend Church. We spent the last two Christmas eves in my brother-in-law's churches, attending mass (is that what you call it?) There were also plays put up by the church people to convey the true meaning of Christmas.
Make no mistake, I am not converted yet as I am a hard nut to crack, hee. But that does not mean that I have not found the meaning of life. Maybe it's what happens after death that I should be more concerned about hor, now that I am getting nearer.
The photo? That's Orchard Road. And it was shot by someone else :P
Well, you don't have to be from a Christian family to know the true meaning of Christmas. I too grew up in a non-Christian family. When I came to know Christ and started going to Church, my parents were extremely unhappy; but not to the extend of issuing threat to disown me like what my cousin had to go through. That was when I was in sec 1. I was saved, then I was lost. But I never stop believing in God. The shepherd is counting his sheep and looking for his lost sheep Victor. And it's not just me. You too.
Christians don't usually call it mass, at least not from the Church where I used to attend. They call it "Candle-lit service". Mass is usually a term used by the Catholics, I think...
I've always known you're nut, nuttier than a fruitcake, and a hard one at that. It's not too late, Victor, to find salvation and atone your many sins (including those against me). You don't have to wait till you're in "CRIB", you know? But I've too many vices to ever serve as a good role model for you to emulate. Again, I'm tempted to quip "Do as I say; not as I do". Hee! But God bless your bro-in-law. Maybe we can go to church together one day?
On the other hand, the Almighty God is so loving and forgiving that He's always ready to count me as one of his sheep anytime when I'm ready to accept him. So it is still not too late to accept him even though I'm CRIB, so long as I'm not RIP.
The trouble is that some people don't pass through the CRIB stage before arriving at RIP. Examples of such cases are strokes, accidents, heart attacks and wife attacks, haha.
Ya, God is ever gracious and he will forgive us all our sins. But thou shall not take thy God for granted.
God is every ready to reclaim his sheep, anytime. But let's not wait too late, my friend. You know, as well as I do, the fragility of life. When your time's up, it will hit you like a bolt of lightning you won't even have time to know exactly what hit you. Think you can pray for salvation while your soul burns in hell?
