This post was more than a month late. I brought my family to Genting Highland during the last school holidays. It's been more than a decade since my trip to the mountain resort and what a transformation! Seriously, with a theme park so near our home, why bother with Dream World at Gold Coast, Australia?
Over at Genting, they have both the outdoor and indoor theme park. As usual, the kids love the theme park the best, for the various rides and arcade games. The Slim Lady was busy shopping and having high tea with her sister who also tagged along with her kids. And me? I was left to baby-sit Junior. And she called this a "family holiday"? Sianz...
But I'm quite amazed by the number of restaurants and eateries at Genting. It's almost mind-boggling. Not say I wanna say one. I'm reminded at once of the up-coming IRs in Singapore. I juz wonder how our IRs are gonna measure up. As far as I'm concerned, we've already lost on one score - the weather. The weather over at Genting is so cooling and shiok. Wish I could stay there forever. And here in Singapore? It's hot as hell. We are not called a "Pig's Paradise" for nothing. Hehehe....
Oh, btw I din step into the casino. How to bring Junior inside? Sigh...

Talking about Gold Coast, I don't recall you putting up a blog post on it. I mean a proper one, not the one with just a silly postcard in it that says "Greetings from Gold Coast. Wish you were here!" hor. So that blog post will be even more belated than this one, is it?

I did the Flying Coaster when I was in Genting some years ago. That time, I felt the air in Genting quite polluted and not as cooling, as tens of years ago. Global warming :O
Food also not much choice leh. I remember eating the dimsum in 大炒.
Looks like within just 3 yrs, Genting changed again. The mock eiffel tower, statue of liberty look so much like what was done in Vegas. But I tell you Vegas is more more beautiful than this. And I don't know how Singapore's IR will compare with Genting.

What a waste because Genting casino doesn't charge $100 admission fee mah (unlike our own IRs). And pleeease, it is considered gaming not gambling, especially if you only wrestle with the one-armed bandits.
I haven't been to Genting for maybe 20 odd years now. It certainly looks like a totally different place now, judging from your photos.

I neber checked the temperature. But I guess it's about 24 degree or below. And yes, I felt that the wx is not as cooling as it was when I was there more than 10 years ago... You should make a trip there... juz to relax.

I haven't been to Genting in a long long time, will definitely try to make it one day. Sounds like it has developed quite a bit since I last went.
